Stubben 2636 Egg Butt Sweet Copper Single Jointed Bit
2636 Eggbutt Snaffle Single JointedÂ
The Eggbutt snaffle is characterised by a fixed ring. The sides should lie about one centimetre closer to the corners of the mouth compared to a loose ring snaffle. The Eggbutt prevents the corners of the mouth from being pinched by the rings. The horse cannot lift the bit with its tongue, so the mouthpiece stays calmer in the mouth and is somewhat more stabilised laterally. Since the ring does not rotate, there is a minimally more direct action with a slight effect on the poll. However, the difference from a loose ring snaffle is hardly noticeable for the horse or most riders. The single-jointed mouthpiece lies more quietly in the mouth than a double-jointed mouthpiece and distributes the pressure over the bars of the horse, with the central joint reducing pressure on the tongue. The Eggbutt provides slight lateral stabilisation and guidance, creating calmness and stability in the horse’s mouth.
